Shoving an S Class into an SUV that can handle it’s own offroad pits Mercedes up against Landrover. But it’s not alone. BMW’s X5 is also ready to traverse barely maintained dirt roads. It’s a competitive market and Mercedes wants to bring it’s brand of fancy to the world devoid of asphalt.
