Ubisoft has released a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming open-world action-adventure Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In fact, we got two new trailers which are pretty much the same but each of them shows one of the two choosable protagonists. Check them out here.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is nearing its October release and Ubisoft is using the media attention of Gamescom nicely by putting out a new cinematic trailer their game. Each featuring one of the two selectable protagonists, Alexios or Kassandra, the new Gamescom Cinematic Trailer is showcasing the setting of ancient Greece, with its worldly conflicts of a civilization nearing its end and supernatural mythical beasts.
The trailer shows a wide selection of locations and gameplay elements. From lush forests to vast sceneries, the world in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is promising heaps of variety, whether it is location or gameplay. We witness intense one-on-one fights against highly intimidating warriors alongside epic battles of rival armies. It’s very impressive how dozens of fighters are battling out on ground but the short glimpse we get of the naval combat is just incredible.
Similar to previous Assassin’s Creed games, our player character will not only use small rafts but also commandeer huge battle ships at sea. In the trailer, we see how we set enemy ships on fire with scorching ammo, destroying the enemy craft.
The huge map in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is offering a lot more dangers than hostile humans however. Ferocious wild animals like lions, bears and wolves pose and ever present threat in the Greek wilderness.
And if all those weren’t enough already, mythical beasts and demons are dwelling in crypts and caves. We get a quick look at warriors who turned into stone and a snake-like enemy, reminding us of the mythical Greek figure Medusa. There’s no doubt, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is going deep with the ancient Greek setting.
